We are looking for highly qualified and motivated PhD Students and posdocs who have physical interests on particle-laden, granular and related flows. Our research interest spans from fundamentals (like numerical modelling and elucidation of fundamental flow physics) to applications (like collaborations with industry and government agency) but we are always with great interests in flow physics.  Comparing to single-phase flows, behavior of these flows is very complex and intriguing.  We need to enhance our understandings by using advanced numerical and experimental techniques.

Our research topics are not limited but related to

    • Discrete element modeling of granular flows
    • DEM-CFD coupling modeling for dense and dilute gas-solid flows
    • Particle-resolved direct numerical simulation of particle-laden flows
    • Three-phase flow modeling in granular media
    • Wetting of granular media
    • Magnetic resonance measurement of granular flows
    • Massive parallel computing of particle-laden and granular flows
